This is a series of portraits that represents my return to painting after a break of more than 20 years. I decided to paint portraits of my friends gathered around the queer collective UFA, but not only. They were created based on photos I took at an event in 2012 dedicated to Sadowska, a pre-war doctor who lost her license to practice because of her homosexuality. In creating this series, I also wanted to show the non-obviousness of what we call “feminine.”
